Every Moment
It's true to each heart comes a little pain
Lord, in each life falls a little rain
Lord, in each life falls a little rain
But if I look there's a rainbow in the sky
A ray of hope when a shadow passes by
A silver lining just behind the darkest cloud
All the promise that I need to say out loud
Every moment is another gift of life
I'm grateful for each minute, Lord, of walking in your light
Every moment is an opportunity
To dedicate myself to living all you have for me
Every moment
Time - I only have what's in today
Lord, help me to use what slips away
Lord, help me to use what slips away
We never know for tomorrow may not come
Our lives appear then like a vapor they are gone
I want to treasure each day you give to me
Live it as though it's the last I'll ever see
By: Nikki Leonti
I heard a song today from a Christian artist I listened to as a child. I use to love her songs and until today she was forgotten in my little world. So, once I got home I did some googling and found some of her old lyrics. This one stuck out to me as I read through it. She speaks the truth. Life is going to have it's disappointments and pain, but that doesn't mean we have to feel them forever. There is always that silver lining at the end of each mishap in our life. We can't take life for granted. We have to live it to the fullest and cherish each day as if it's our last. Tomorrow is never promised. I always have to remind myself that I need to "take every moment as an opportunity" and to "dedicate myself to living for all He has for me."
My biggest struggle lately has been job hunting. It's been hard and I've yet to come across the place for me. It's put me pretty down the past few days. But I've realized through Nikki Leonti that I can't let it bring me down. The fact of not getting a job could be a chance of opportunities elsewhere until I do get a teaching job. I need to dedicate my life to the plans He does have for me until then. I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that God has many blessings coming my way... job or no job.
I'll never look at a clouds silver lining the same again. Just as the rainbow is seen as a promise, I see a clouds silver lining as a message of hope and a promise from our God.
Growing up I would say "look God is peeking through the clouds." It's true.. that message of hope and of a promise is him being there for us. He's looking down on us right at this moment, taken care of us through all our days (good or bad).
