2011 is now in the past. A good year all around. I wanted to review this past year in this blog as well as for the year to come....
- I brought 2011 in with hundreds of college students in DC. It was a great spiritual way to bring in the new year!
- I started my last semester in college by student teaching at Hominy Valley Elementary in the first grade. It was a semester of joy, growth, and tons of experience.
- I graduated from Appalachian State University with a BA of Science in Elementary Education.
- I spent the summer relaxing by our pool and working at The Children's Place. Where I met some woman that will forever be apart of my life (the know who they are!).
- I job searched and searched. I had disappointments and my heart broken a few times. At the very last minute I entered into a school that has done a lot for me. North Canton Elementary has been a open door for me. And I am so thankful for that!
- I taught 3rd grade for ten weeks! I loved every minute of it and I have never been so enthusiastic about working in my life! I miss it everyday!
- I took the opportunity of accepting a full time position at the same school. It's a job that I have to push myself to keep going, but in the end it's a experience opportunity under my belt and I am still working with children every day. The plus side, I still get to see the 3rd graders that I grew to love. I have learned a lot through this job and I am so thankful for it (even if at times I have to push myself pretty hard!).
- Justin and I decided to tie-the-knot! We set a date and began all our planning!!
- This year was the first year that I spent the entire year with my family since I started college.
- God has blessed me tremendously!
Now..... all that is in the past and the future is to come! No looking back!
2012 will include a lot of new chapters in my life!
- Justin and I will be tying the knot on March 24th, 2012!!! We are so excited and are more than ready to start a new chapter in our life.
- I will continue doing the job searching throughout this year. My prayers are that I find the perfect job for me and gain even more experience than I have now. I hope that God has my own classroom and set of students in my plans this year! But if not.. there are always other opportunities to look forward to!
- I want to live this year with confidence and nothing but love, happiness, and joy!!
- I know God is going to bless not only my life this year, but Justin and I's marriage as well. I have no doubt about this one! :)
- I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store!!!
Justin and I's preacher had the perfect verse for his sermon today. It sums up what all our New Years Resolution should be! My most favorite part of this verse is that part where Paul says... "Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us."
"I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to posses that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us." Philippians 3:12-14
